Isaiah 2:5 - Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the LORD.
One of the by-products of getting older is the numerous experiences one accumulates over the years. Thankfully, most of our memorable experiences have been wonderful. However, some have been tough… and we tend to make them more difficult by our insistence that we trudge on, bearing the load alone when we know that Christ will help us bear the load or even remove it entirely.
Stephen Ministry has been a blessing for us. God has allowed us to be a an active part of caring for his people. Through Stephen Ministry we have been given the opportunity and the responsibility to care for one another; but are regularly reminded that God is responsible for the cure. What is so amazing about this whole process is that we as Christians are about the business of caring, hoping, and patiently waiting in the light of the LORD, knowing that the results and cures are provided by God. We have been given many resources which help us remain “in the light of the LORD.” Three of these are prayer, scripture and the loving presence of other human beings.
While we join together as God’s family during this celebration of His glorious gift to all, may each glowing candle, each shining Christmas tree light and each twinkling snowflake and star remind you that as a Christian, your walk is lighted by the light of our LORD! Hallelujah!
