Psalm 97:11 -Light shines on the godly, and joy on those who do right.

Learning the light and the truth of God and following in the footsteps of our forefathers will bring joy and gladness to your heart. This is a lesson that I have learned. After many years of contemplation, four years ago I started the Disciple Bible Study with great apprehension. I knew that the commitment would be time consuming and I didn’t know if I wanted to devote that kind of time out of my busy life. This one step has brought such great joy to my life. Prior to starting the Disciple classes, I had experienced times of sorrow and excitement, which were dependent upon the outside  influences of my days. However, upon reading and studying the word of God and then incorporating God’s love and lessons into my daily living, I have felt not only the love and strength of God, I have felt joy in my heart. As I start each morning with a prayer asking guidance from God to follow in Jesus Christ’s example, I know that God will fill my heart with his spirit and my life will be filled with joy.

Of all the gifts that we can share with our family and loved ones through this Advent season, please give the gift of joy. Teach those around you of the love of God so that He can be a light shining a pathway to His kingdom.
