Outreach Programs

Caring Connection This is a ministry that shares Christ’s love by providing meals to those who are experiencing a particular hardship. Several groups within this ministry serve as the core team for contact when a person or family has a need. These situations are loosely defined as hospitalization or a long-term illness (usually greater than one week), however other extenuating circumstances can also apply.

Missions Committee is a working committee of the church meeting bi-monthly. Faith Promise contributions provide the funding for the projects that this committee supports.

The Missions Committee is challeging this congregation to provide the Methodist Depot in Illinois with 50 flood buckets, 100 health kits and 50 new blankets. Empty flood buckets are located in Stephenson Hall with a list of items needed in each bucket. List for the health kits are available for pick up at each information booth. Blankets can be dropped off at the church office.

The committee members lead in sponsoring and facilitating The Angel Tree Project prior to Christmas, two blood drives and two food drives each year. Also Habitat for Humanity house building and short term mission trips are Mission Committee projects.

Two special offerings each year, the Lenten Offering and the Advent Offering, support specific ministries. One such ministry thus supported is the Pastor's Discretionary Fund and is used by the pastors to assist needy persons in our community and church.

Smile Ministry sends humorous stories and jokes to our shut-ins and others needing laughter. We are anxious to add more names, so if you know someone who would enjoy receiving these chuckles or have a funny story, please let us know.

Sunshine Friends Team provides fun and fellowship for the mentally and physically challenged. This group meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Celebration Hall & Wesley Hall.

Visitation Ministry Team makes phone calls, hospital and nursing home and in-home visits to our shut-ins. Training and devotional materials are provided.
