Stephen Ministry

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ". Galatians 6:2

Stephen Ministry is:

- Lay people providing one-to-one Christian care for hurting people.

- Confidential, non-judgmental, dependable, listening, compassionate, trustworthy and Christ centered.

- On-going care, continues as long as needed -- often after initial crisis support has ceased.

Who is Stephen Ministry for?

- Seriously ill, grieving, abandoned, elderly, those experiencing spiritual crisis, divorce, seperation, loss of job, or any difficulty that could be made easier with the support of a Christian companion.

Stephen Ministers are not:

- Professional counselors, ordained pastors or problem "fixers".

Being a Stephen Minister involves:

- using your spiritual gifts

- learning care giving skills

- the joy of seeing God working to bring hope and healing to a hurting person

- experiencing the Lord's loving presence in community with other Christian caregivers
