The vision of NFUMC@Teter is to glorify God by assisting people to enter into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, to nurture Christians in discipleship, and to share God-given gifts and talents with others. The purpose of our facility is to offer an environment of hospitality which is conducive to spiritual renewal, reflection, relaxation, and Christian fellowship. Teter Retreat provides a place to be still and listen, rest, reflect, join in fellowship, and find spiritual renewal. Owned and operated by First United Methodist Church, Teter is available to individual members and groups of FUMC. When available, other not-for-profit groups which are religious, educational, or charitable in mission may rent space by contacting the church office.
The outdoor chapel provides an open-air worship setting with a pulpit, altar, crosses, and benches for 100 among a beautiful canopy of trees. The grounds and walking trail at Teter provide a tranquil place for solitude and spiritual renewal. The White River borders the property and is available for fishing, camping, or your favorite canoe. The shelter is a large, covered open-air pavilion with a concrete floor and electrical outlets. Picnic tables, a barbeque pit, a sand volleyball court and horseshoes make for an enjoyable time of fellowship. The Teter Lodge is a modern log cabin with a large meeting room, a stone fireplace, kitchen, covered porches, and a carpeted basement. Seminar style setup with round tables accommodates 30.
Reservations require a signed contract and a damage deposit of $100.
